The Gordon Setter is a large dog with a thick, muscular body. The breed has a glossy, wavy coat in tan, red, and black. The Gordon Setter sheds seasonally and requires weekly brushing when shedding.

Behavior & Disposition

The Gordon Setter is alert, fearless, confident, and loyal. Adult supervision is recommended when playing with children and other dogs.

Activity Level

The Gordon Setter has a high activity level, but it is still easy for the breed to become overweight. It is not recommended to feed them high-protein food. In addition, a low-sodium diet is recommended.

Training

The Gordon Setter is a smart yet stubborn dog, and can quickly pick up on training. Early socialization and obedience training are recommended.
